Electric Concept Cars Launching in 2021 – Audi Q4 e-Tron
The upcoming Audi Q4 e-Tron will fit into the slot of Audi’s Q3 and Q5 crossover size yet different from the two given its all-electric e-Tron configuration. This upcoming EV will be running on the MEB platform just like EVs from Volkswagen Group. The concept car boasts off a classy exterior with a medium-sized grille on the front fascia with the Audi emblem etched on top of the grille. The headlamps also have a unique design giving this concept car a unique outlook. The EV is expected to go on sale in 2021.
This upcoming model from the BMW series is an EV with conventional styling and has similarities to the 4-series Gran Coupe that is a four-door hatchback. The previously released models from the i-series have futuristic elements like the design, however, for the upcoming model, BMW is going the conventional route. The EV will have an 80.0-kWh battery pack that can produce 523 hp. The production of the BMWi4 is expected to begin in 2021.
The 2021 concept cars segments also have some new manufacturers like the Bollinger that is a high-end truck or SUV. This vehicle is targeted toward a customer base that does not mind adding more features to their vehicle. Both the SUV and truck are equipped with a 120.0-kWh battery pack that has a 200 miles range. The battery can produce 614 horsepower, and 668 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle is said to go from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The Bollinger B1 has 15 inches ground clearance and 5000 pounds of payload capacity.
The second concept vehicle from the Bollinger band is an electric pickup truck that has removable and foldable panels. The outlook of the vehicle is Jeep Style and with 20 inches of ground clearance and locking differentials that give the truck off-road capabilities. There are also disconnecting sway bars that are present at the rear and front of the pickup. The truck will have a front and rear tailgate, hydropneumatic suspension, and geared axle hubs. The vehicle is the capacity to carry 16-foot pieces of lumber when the tailgate is closed. The cost of the pickup truck is $125,000 and the EV is expected to go on sale in 2021.
Byton M-Byte Concept
The upcoming Byton M-Byte Concept is an amalgamation of a sedan and a crossover that was shown at the CES technology show. This EV comes from a Chinese startup that has been operating since 2016. The vehicle’s price is estimated at $45,000 in the US market. The Byton M-Byte is equipped with a 72.0-kWh battery that can produce 272-hp and has a rear-wheel drive. This version can provide 224 miles of drive range. The other version includes a 95.0-kWh pack that can produce 408 hp and is all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. This larger version can provide up to 286 miles of drive range.
Ford F-150 Electric
Next on the list is an electric concept car from Ford that is expected to be available in 2021. The truck has an outlook that is familiar to the customer base of the Ford segment, but this version will not leave a carbon footprint. The GMC Hummer is expected to be both an SUV and a pickup, with three motors that can produce 1000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque, which is impressive. This one is once again from a start-up that is based in California that was founded in 2007. The brand had claimed to make a vehicle that will compete with Tesla in 2016, but the release of the vehicle was unclear. Recently, Lucid secured a $ 1 billion funding from an investor in Saudi Arabia and began work on their assembly plant. The EV is claimed to have 1000 horsepower that will give it 400 miles of range. Moreover, the vehicle will have a top speed of over 200 mph, and it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds. The vehicle is also said to incorporate autonomous driving technologies which are certainly something to look forward to this year. The production of Lucid Air is expected to begin this year.
This upcoming EV from Mazda will be its first fully electric vehicle with a 35.5-kWh battery pack which will most likely have a range of 150 miles. The manufacturer has also revealed that the vehicle will have a rotary engine that will act as a range extender but details regarding its powertrain have not been revealed. The information regarding the specs of this crossover is limited right now.
