It wasn’t too long ago when Audi shared their sports car concept Audi A9 Prologue with the world. In 2014, people lost their minds and could not wait to buy it. With a few modifications, Audi is now ready to start production of this car by spring of 2017. You will not find any major changes from the concept to the production car. It seems like Audi has actually nailed this one out of the Park.
Sports Car Concept Not A Generic Car Anymore
Audi has long since gained the status of creating the same car with slight modifications in different lines for years. Their A1, A3, A6, A4 and A8 all have been criticized to look and work the same. A9 Prologue is a refreshing change that is being welcomed with open arms. To stay true to the Audi brand and banner, A9 Prologue has the same lines and curves that we have come to love about Audi.
But at the same time, the lines and curves are surprisingly sporty. The brand known for making high-end luxury sedans has changed their game plan with a 2 door sports coupe. Previously envisioned as a luxury sedan, Audi Prologue is now surprising the world with smaller and perkier version.
It has retained the large radiator grill with new wedge shape headlights. It has high-resolution Matrix laser technology, so prepare to be dazzled when you see this car on the road. A9 Prologue has the length of 5.10 meters, wheelbase is 2.94 meters, height is 1.39 meters and the width is 1.95 meters.
With these dimensions, Audi A9 Prologue stands one step ahead of Mercedes S class cars and BMW 7 series cars. The wheels of this car are 22 inches with carbon ceramic brakes. The concave rear window accentuates the rear, which also features dual exhaust pipes.
Engine Performance and More
The interior of the new Audi A9 Prologue is pretty much same as the one of the concept car. This coupe has OLED screen made of organic LEDs with 3D like touch capabilities. The smooth dashboard has four of these screens. Plus this coupe is amazingly intelligent. It has an auto detection system that allows multiple drivers to save their specific mirror and seat settings.
All you would have to do is signal the car with your mobile and your ride will be ready according to your preferences. The headrests automatically rise when a passenger sits down. It goes back to its original position once the seat in empty.
The Audi A9 Prologue coupe has 4.0 liter, V8 twin-turbocharged engine. With a 605 horsepower and torque of 553.2 lb-ft and 8-speed automatic transmission, this car is very responsive and can go from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed is 155 mph and fuel economy of 26 mpg.
The production of this car is expected to begin in the spring of 2017 and it is expected to cost around $120,000 to $140,000. With these specification and price point, Prologue is one step ahead of all future concept cars of Nissan.
